Volunteer Requirements Summary from Parent Meeting:

• We are 100+ families strong this year…. AWESOME!
• Meets are run by volunteers… it takes all of us!
• Volunteer Must Do’s
  • 4 Spots for the season (timer, lane parent, bake sale attendant, official, etc.)
  • This is an expectation of being a part of the team. Unfortunately, there are penalties for not participating fully.
  • Penalties include fines and not being permitted to join the team for the following season.
• Volunteer Nice-To-Do’s
  • Pick up an extra spot if you can somewhere along the way (late in the season is our trickiest time- especially champs) BONUS: get to know more families and swimmers if you help at a practice-time event.
• Bake Sale Donations are for families with ONLY 6 & Under Swimmers
  • Logic: 6 & under swimmers are usually done early in the evening to allow for early bedtimes so these families don’t usually stay for the entire meet, this allows parents to leave and not have to stay for the whole meet.
  • If you have a 6 and under & and older child this does NOT count for your family because your older swimmer will stay at the meet until the end.
  • This can only count for 1 (ONE) volunteer shift per season.
• We need OFFICIALS!!!
  • If you were a former swimmer or familiar with swimming strokes and turns, we’d love to invite you to help us at meets!
• Communicate EARLY & OFTEN if you think your family will struggle to meet the requirements; we have options to help your family. But these jobs and support will be filled quickly, reach out to Megan Rodney ASAP if you need support!

VOLUNTEER JOBS will OPEN on 2 Dates to allow fairness to sign up:

• Sunday June 7th@ 9pm - the first 4 meets of the season
• Sunday June 21st @ 9pm for all remaining events of the season

Swim Team Volunteer Policy (from registration)

Each family is expected to volunteer for a number of work opportunities/shifts to help run the meets (which includes the SSA Championships). The required number of volunteering opportunities per family depends on the number of families involved in the team. This can be any combination of home meets, away meets, team functions, and SSA Championships. Our events require a lot of support from our families: many hands make light work!

2026 Each PHSC Family will be required: (as of 03/15/2026)

• Swim Team (4) FOUR work "shifts" per family AT Swim Meets/Events.

There are jobs required during swim meets & during practice times; some jobs can be done outside of swim team event times, all jobs are first-come, first-served and require online sign-up. Job positions sign-ups will be available closer to the start of the season, emails will communicate these opportunities & sign-up deadlines, etc.

PHSC will host several Parent Meetings both online and at PHSC during swim team times. All Swim Team operations & functions will be explained and shared during this meeting. Please watch for updates and invites for this zoom or in-person meeting.

If you feel volunteering may be an issue, please contact one of the Swim Team Reps listed below, so we can make alternate plans for your family. 

Please let us know at the beginning of the season so we can make proper accommodations.Families who do NOT meet their Volunteer Requirements may risk being ineligible to register for future seasons and/or a fine for missed opportunities to support the team. Each decision will be determined on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Swim & Dive Team Board along with the PHSC Board.
